Grants

We are grateful to the following organisations for their help in keeping the building and contents of St. Hugh’s maintained and conserved for the future:

Minor Repairs 2025-2026
St Hugh’s took advantage of the Diocese of Truro, Minor Repairs and Improvement grant to repair various cracks, slipped slates and ridge tiles and some failed pointing.
The Cornwall Historic Churches Trust started the process with a generous grant of £2000 and the MR&I grant provided £4364.
The work was planned but our first builder had to pull out and the work was re-tendered. This led to an increase in costs and an application to the National Churches Trust was made to fund the balance. They gave us a grant of £3000 allowing the work to proceed.
Dan Sands is our builder and he recently finished the work to a high standard, which was overseen by Simon Crosbie of Le Page, our church architect.
Thank you to all concerned.
